Audiophile Bullshit Of The Year – Blackbody

I tried to ignore this thing, but it’s just too blatantly bullshit I had to say something about it. The product info reads like an April-fools joke, but no, it’s and everyday fools joke. I’m trying really hard not to say anything that can be considered libelous, I’ll just link you to the product and post some things Less Loss Audio Devices wrote about their product. I am allowed to say it’s bullshit.

What is the Blackbody?

The Blackbody is a high-tech audio accessory which greatly enhances your audio playback experience by addressing the interaction of your audio gear’s circuitry with ambient electromagnetic phenomena and modifying this interplay. The Blackbody takes advantage of the quantum nature of particle interaction, and is therefore able to permeate metal, plastic, wood, and other barriers to affect the circuitry inside your components. This altered electromagnetic influence results in profoundly improved sound quality. [emphasis mine]

Read more about the how and why behind the product here: http://www.lessloss.com/page.html?id=60 This still comes across like a joke.

Buy this “product” for the uber low price of $959, an absolute bargain for a paper weight. They recommend purchasing 3 for a system. http://www.lessloss.com/blackbody-p-200.html

Smells like typical audiophile bullshit to me, I’d love to be proven wrong.

    Ha ha what a load!

“specifically the “fingerprint” of the statistical photon emission produced by audio equipment. It converts this photon radiation into a harmless photon gas without spectral content.”

Photon = LIGHT the only photon emission is the led on the front!

    This is a total joke.

Usually they make up fluff that cant be proven either way. But this technical discription doesnt even make sense.

It makes me sad some poor dude is going to pay for this…

I have to say as audiophile justifications go, this is far more entertaining than most !

“we have created quasi utopian ambient conditions for the gear to function in.”

Priceless. The best bit is the discussion of how the ‘phenomenom’ was discovered – apparently a pot of paint in the car can work wonders for your stereo…!

Thanks for that, well worth the read :-)

Think I’ll stick to covering the walls with magnets.

photons are excited electrons. excited electrons emit light. light is not the same as photons. but this product is still bs…

    This is a riot!!!

Maybe the designers are time travelers from the future? LOL.

I have seen some audiophile BS before, but this one should come with it’s own shovel.

A place that comes with it’s own BS detector. Ok, just kidding. It is BYBSD.
