I can has Pro Tools?

Tuesday, April 29th, 2008

I just spent a full day trying to figure out what was causing my sessions to get corrupted and the general system instability. I believe it is a combination of a hard drive error and outdated plugins.

Everyone follow along at home:

Check all your drives for errors.

Install the latest version of Pro Tools, 7.4 cs4.

Run the digidesign plugin updater. http://www.digidesign.com/index.cfm?langid=100&navid=54&itemid=28250

Check all your other plugins to verify they are up to date.

Don’t worry, I’ll write a real post soon.

F.U. Pro Tools

Sunday, April 20th, 2008

I’m getting pretty sick of things like this multiple times a day. This is after it refused to save my project.

I guess I should add some more explanation to this.

This error was caused by corrupted database files. At first it was unable to save a backup, then it refused to save, then it refused to exit.

It can be corrected by deleting the “Digidesign Databases” folder from each drive.

This situation cannot be prevented as far as I know, other than to delete the databases folders regularly and SAVE OFTEN!
